The Gondoliers is Gilbert and Sullivan's twelfth comedic opera and it has seen a lot of success throughout its lifetime. When first opening in 1891, the play ran for 554 times and it is still considered to be one of the best latter plays by Gilbert and Sullivan. The story itself tells a riveting tale of two gondoliers that have been mixed up in an unfortunate series of events. After discovering that one of them is the rightful ruler of Barataria, they must join and face the challenges of true love, power, and friendship. Come see Marco, Giuseppe, and many more hilarious characters perform at Moyse Hall starting February 14th!
